Jesse

Jesse (Cocker Spaniel x English Springer) came into our lives in 2005 from a friend and was with us for 2 years and 8 months. You were full of life and brightened the house. Even with your famous escape artist and being caught by a ranger - I could not get angry with you. Sadly you were hit by vehicle on February 5th and did not survive. Your loss affected me and my wife greatly. We value your cheerful playful attitude.

Trickie

Trickie
Trickie - Border Collie cross

This is a photo of our Trickie taken on 31/10/99, as you can see she was quite young. Trickie passed away on 5/1/07 at 13 ½ years old, after a few operations. Trickie was rescued from a farm up North and was probably going to be destroyed. Our ten year old border collie “Skip” had just passed away and we were devastated. My husband Ron phoned me from our property up North about a week after Skip had died of a heart attack and said this little thing wanted a home. I could hear her barking, she was tied up as Ron thought she might run away, she was just six months old and had been kept chained up all the time by one of those drum kennels the farmers use for their sheep dogs. Trickie’s mother was a pedigreed golden cocker spaniel and the father was the short hair border collie cross (a very good sheep dog by the way). When Ron brought her home I said the only thing she had going for her was her sweet little face, she had long legs, long tail, small head and the most beautiful soft long ears. It didn’t take Trickie long to grow into her body and make herself at home. Her place was in Ron’s space cab ute and always travelled in the front seat. She would be quite put out when I went with him and she had to sit in the back seat. We feel she had a very good life and was loved dearly. We now have to think about another dog after a holiday. We have made an azalea garden for her and it has a nice wooden plaque on the fence with her details right next to Skip.

We miss her very much.

Boofy

Boofy
Boofy – Jack Russell 1991 – 2007

You were a very special friend, you enjoyed your walks and playing with your companion friend Scruffy. You loved to cuddle up on my lap at nights. As you grew older and weaker I would pick you up for a cuddle and you would rest your head on my shoulder and sleep in my arms. Your walks became less often as you didn’t have the strength. I provided you help when it came to meal times, helped you to get in and out of your bed and kept you comfortable with lots of love and care. I miss doing that for you. I tried to keep you going for as long as possible without you suffering, you couldn’t see or hear and developed a condition known as Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (CDS) which is like Alzheimer’s but you still kept battling on and wouldn’t give up until your CDS gradually became worse, you grew frail and became too weak to lift yourself up off the floor on your own. You loved your food but once you gave up on that I knew then it was time to let you go. You had to be put to sleep on the 15th February 2007 at the age of 16 years and I held you till the end and spoke to you until you were no longer able to see. That was the hardest decision I had to make as I didn’t want to let you go. You are now at peace my friend. You will be in my heart and loved forever. Scruffy still looks for you and we are both missing you deeply.

Amber

Amber was a Boxer who was with us from 1995 - June 2006. She died at home in my sisters arms of tumour related illness. She was dearly loved and spoilt and is still with us in our garden at home. Vixen, a male dacshund was her lifelong friend and misses her too.

Thank you to all the Vets at North Melbourne Lost Dogs’ Home who cared for her.

We will never forget your cheeky nature and your strong need for attention Amber…xxxxx

Elle

Elle
Elle (1993 - 24th February 2007)

We met little Elle when she was only a little puppy and we knew she was the one when she licked our hands through the cage at The Lost Dogs’ Home in North Melbourne.

Throughout the years spent at her Newport residence, Elle learnt to sit, lay down, shake hands, roll over and throw her dish. She was spoilt in every way from left overs to Schmackos and sleeping on beds to her thousand toys received.

Elle passed away peacefully at home and will be sadly missed by all of the family - John, Marc & Sara and especially by her cockatoo friend Henry and two cat friends Minky and Ojay.

Ella

Ella
My dog, my best friend, like a child. xx RIP Chupii xx. 1/7/05 - 1/2/07.

Ella (black lab x staffy) - the most loving and outgoing dog you could ever come by. She was always happy and ready for whatever life threw at her, sadly my best-friend got hit by a car on the 1st of Febuary 2007. It was so hard to let go of something so special and close to my heart. Everyday was full of treasured moments, I can’t tell you just how much she is missed. Still hoping Ghia returns to us safe and sound (lost on same date) - purebred female staffy, brindle with white chest.

Loved by all. Rest in peace Chupii. . . love always Mum (Caitlin), Grandma Tracey, Grampa Stu and Uncle Matt.

Babez

Babez (Jack Russell) died 4-12-2006 aged 8. With me since April 14th 1997.

Babez, from the first to the last time I held you I knew you were something special, my princess, my girl you will always be. You are a one of a kind dog and I will never ever find another one like you. We got to grow up together and you were always there for me to hug and to hold. I still have your puppy teeth and even though letting you go was the hardest thing, I know you are in a better place now and one day I will be with you again. You will always be in my heart.

Lulu

Lulu was a very friendly kelpie/shepherd cross who lived to fetch the ball/stick no matter how tired or sick she was. Born on Valentine’s Day, she grew up in Pheasant Creek and spent many years swimming in the dam while her brother Mitch looked on. Lulu was full of energy and light and in recent years very bravely survived two massive liver cancer operations but sadly was killed by a train on Feb 6th - a week before her 16th birthday.

I am truly honored that I had the daily joy and love of such a devoted and loyal little friend for so many years. You will always be remembered and loved my dearest LULU- I hope you are with Jezza my sweet furry friend. Missing you so very much, Rose and your brother Mitch.

Tyra

Tyra

Tyra (Boxer): 14/01/1997 - 10/02/2007. Acquired from the Australian Animal Protection Society (Keysborough) in March 1997. With us for 10 years.

To a very much loved member of our family. We will sorely miss seeing your beautiful face, enjoying your company and affection. You were always there for us when we needed you, if only we could have done more to help you. We know that you had to go but you have taken our hearts with you. Zero is missing his big sister and we are all missing our little girl. You were always the perfect angel and now you’re in heaven where you belong. We will always remember, love and cherish you and every moment we had with you.

Shara

Shara was a Lhasa Apso x Maltese who passed away on January 4th 2007, after being diagnosed with Liver Cancer only three weeks earlier. She was only 6 years old. Shara belonged to my Dad, Kevin and was his shadow. He bought her from a pet shop when she was only 6 weeks and they were inseparable. She lived her life in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, along with her best friends Rocky & Kimba. She had three litters and I have one from her first, Chloe Moo.

It broke Dad’s heart to have to put her to sleep but there was nothing we could do. She was everything to him, always meeting him after work and sleeping on his clothes at night. We buried her out the back in her bed with her favourite T-shirt. Life just isn’t the same.

We miss you angel, not the same visiting anymore. Rest in peace baby girl. xoxo
