LIL

LIL, Kelpie X, died 23/08/08 in my arms was 14 years old and came from the Lost Dogs Home North Melbourne when she was 7 months old.

She was a sociable friendly dog but was always MY Lilly - gal.
She’s buried in a corner of the back yard and my grandsons go and say hello to her when they visit and ask where she is.
She’s been a source of education about the Life / Death cycle to the kids and they talk about her often.

Cody

Cody, our beautiful German Shepard/Labrador cross had to be put to sleep
on the 28/8/2008 after suffering a major stroke. She was 16 years old,
looked like she was 9 and acted like she was 2. She was not a pet, but a
full member of our family and an absolute lifesaver. She was the heart
and soul of our family and now that she’s gone, a huge gap has been left
that can never be filled.
You’ll never be forgotten, Babybear..
Your loving family, Katie, Sue, Gar, Ben, Pookie and Brower

Ambrose

Our beautiful golden retriever went to sleep on 8/10/08 aged 13. He was
the light and life of our little family for 10 years and we miss his
smiling happy face and soft brown eyes more than we can say. He was our
clown who made us laugh every day. There is no more laughter in our
lives now.

Sweet dreams our beautiful “bear dog” until we all meet again one day.

Your loving family – Jeff, Sue, Daisy (& the cats)

RIP Boss.

Smart, obedient, mischievous 18 year old dog.

Fred

Much loved dog and faithful companion of Joy.

Died peacefully, aged 17 years.

Fred, I miss your dear face at the window: you always knew when I was coming home. You have a special place in the garden now. A memorial for a little life that is much missed.

Always your very sad owner - Joy

Rosie

Rosie I still remember seeing your photo on the local pound’s website and I couldn’t believe that a sweet old lady like you would find yourself at such a place at your age.

I thought for sure somebody would come and claim you, but you remained there for the 8 days and you were out of time.

Something in your photo touched me and I couldn’t bear the thought of you dying all alone, so I contacted my friend the ranger and instead of him taking you to the vet, he brought you to my house.

When Neil took you out of the van I was shocked at your poor condition. I knew from your photo that you were old, but I had no idea that you had been allowed to get in such bad condition.

Most of the hair on your back was missing, and I could tell from your toughened skin that your allergy had been allowed to continue untreated for years.

You constantly chewed and scratched yourself until you bled.

You had lost your spirit and I thought you might live for a month or two, but I was determined that you would be shown love and be comfortable for whatever time you had left.

Months passed quickly and you amazed us all with your improvement. Your hair was growing back and you gained weight.

It was funny because you never once showed any signs of aggression towards me, dad (my husband Mick) or the girls. But you hated everyone else and we had to warn all visitors to not touch you or you would bite!

Everyone who met you has told us that you knew that we saved you and you were protecting us to say thanks.

Time passed and it is now 2 1/2 years since you arrived.

Over the last few months we have noticed that you aren’t your usual self.

Sadly your body and mind are failing you more and more.

My heart broke as I made your final appointment with the vet.

But please know my sweet ‘ol Rosie that I don’t want to see you suffer anymore.

You will always live in our hearts.

Love you always you sweet old chook.

Lucy

Our beautiful girl, Lucy, a maltese/shitzu, who we had for nearly 17 years, was put to rest last Sunday.

She was a much loved member of the Kelly household in Bacchus Marsh.

She was bought at 12 weeks old. She was a happy-go-lucky girl and enjoyed the company of her friends, Pookie, Ruby and Rufus.

She will be missed sorely but is at peace now.

Susan A Kelly.

Fluffy

You came into our lives and brightened
Each and every day
And so its hard to understand
Why Fate took you away
But wherever you are now, little friend
Our hearts reach out to you
And may you know our love will burn
Til all our wandering days are through

- Neil

Daisy

I had a beautiful female dog and her name was Daisy, she passed away on the 31st of December, 2005 and she was 5 years old.

I remember when we first got her….We went to a lady who was selling Bichon Frises, I have never forgotten that day, it was the year 2000 and me, mum and dad were driving in the car, mum said we were just going to “visit” - instead I brought home my Daisy and she was only 6 weeks old.

Daisy was with me and my family for nearly 6 years and she was a much loved member of the family.
To me she was like a sister. Whenever I was feeling down she would be the one I would turn to, to you it may sound silly but for me well it seemed like the perfect thing to do, she was the most calm and gentle dog you could ever imagine.

I just want my Daisy to know that she will never be forgotten and that there will always be a place in my heart for her, no dog could ever compare to her.

I love you Daisy.
