Lucy

In memory of my Little Lucy - Australian Terrier X.

We rescued you from an animal shelter in NZ way back in 1990 and you lived a life full of fun, fearlessness & food (with your favourite being lasagne & spag bolg), until I made the heart breaking decision in November 2005 to end the life you so obviously were no longer enjoying.

Your personality, mousing & fishing talents and your ability to give the BEST snuggles will always be missed & never forgotten. You lived a great life - you loved food & walkies and hated cats & baths. You saw more of Australia from a caravan than most dogs and I will always miss having you by my side.

You were my best friend little Luce, one in a million and you can never be replaced. May you have loved your life as much as I loved being part of it.

Marty

Marty & Jess
Marty (& Jessie), died 13 April 2006, aged 7 yrs.

You were only 6 weeks old when Aunty Meaghan got you for me. Even though you weren’t what I was looking for, I couldn’t say no. We did everything together and if I went somewhere without you people would ask “Where’s Marty?” We were practically inseperable. You were my son Crunchy. You were ball crazy, even a bit of rubber would keep you occupied for hours! We found your girlfriend Jessie, a Jack Russell x last year wandering the streets and even though I didn’t want another dog, how could I take her away from you? You were in love! You and Jessie had 3 beautiful babies a few months later and you were such a proud Dad! Time went on and about 8 months later you had another suprise for me but this time there were 4 of them! Jessie and your babies went to stay with Aunty Meaghan as I was busy with work. You missed her like crazy but I think you were happy to have me to yourself for those few weeks. I took you to work with me and one of my customers kicked a bit of rubber out onto the road and you chased it. You were so determined to get that bit of rubber that you didn’t see the car. You died in my arms on the way to the vet but not before looking into my eyes one last time. That was the hardest day of my life boy. I kept one of your puppies and named him Marty Junior after you. Jessie still looks for you, especially when she sees your soccer ball. I think she’s waiting for you to come running up to play. I want to thank you for the last 7 years Marty, you were more than I could have hoped for in a dog. I’m sure you are playing with my old dog Max who died at 17 years old and Aunty Meaghan’s dog Tigger who you often tried shaping up to (he weighed 70kgs, you were only 9kgs!) and I better not forget your mate Ronnie the Goat! ‘Till we meet again I will look after Jessie and Marty Junior for you. Love you Crunch, Dad xxxx

Chrissy

Much loved dog of John & Sandra. She was found on the side of the road, December 23, 1991, pregnant at Christmas time. She delivered six beautiful puppies a week later. They all have good homes. She died on a beautiful day, May 16, 2006. Her grandmother, Sara, said she should be named something to do with Christmas. So, she became our Chrissy. The very best watchdog, loyal friend, and the most beautiful and sweetest dog that God ever made. She loved John’s kids, Isaac and Rachel, her grandparent’s, her many siblings, and all of her many friends. She particularly loved her sister, Millie, the cat. Five years ago our youngest member of the family, Moonie the dog, came to live with us. She really kept Chrissy on her toes and kept her young. Chrissy was a very happy dog and really lived every minute of her very long life. Her age was between 17 1/2 years to 18 years of age. She is now free and with the Lord.

Coolie

CoolieCoolie 2
Coolie: 14 November 1980 - 10 March 2006

In memory of Coolie, my beautiful palomino Quarterhorse gelding. Coolie was my best friend from age 6 years until he had to be put to rest at the age of 25. Purchased by my parents for my 14th birthday - Coolie was the greatest present I ever received.

He was full of personality with a sharp mind who loved water and swimming in the dam. Never wanting to be fenced in, Coolie was also a crafty escape artist. In his later years he enjoyed listening to the football on the radio and dozing in the shed. Not a day goes by where I don’t think of him.

My dear old mate, I’ll miss him forever.

Patch

Patch

In loving memory of our much loved Kelpie X, Patch (The Wonder Dog). Purchased in 1997 at the age of 8 weeks from The Lost Dogs’ Home. On the 18th April 2006 I made the hardest decision I ever had to make and that was to say “Goodbye” to my loyal companion of so many years. His old hips had worn out but like the trouper he was he tried but had become too tired. I will always hold very fond memories of my boy but have the comfort of knowing he has been reunited with his beloved feline friends Mr Tig and Harley Mac.
To The Lost Dogs’ Home thank you for allowing me 9 years of a wonderful loyal friend and companion.
Vale Patch.

Lilly

Our Border Collie Lilly passed away this day Saturday 22nd April 2006. Much loved member of the Roddy family in Cheltenham, Victoria since she was born 14 years ago and left behind her friend cat named Tammy and beloved family. Lilly gave us much happiness. We will miss her deeply and never forget her.

Sam

My dad rescued Sam after some one had dumped him in a car park at his work. Sam was a short haired pointer. He died on Saturday the 8th April. We had Sam for just over 11 years. He was probably about a year old when my dad found him. Sam had to be put down as he had cancer and it got to the stage where he wouldn’t even get up for his food, or to see the cats.

That weekend we all cried so many tears but that will never compare to the happiness, fun times and company he brought to our lives.

We also thank the Preston Veterinary clinic, for all their help and support during the years we had Sam.

We will never get over the loss of Sam, and always hold his memory and the happiness he brought to us in our hearts forever.

Good bye Sammy, we all love and miss you!

Sally

April 1, 2006 at 1.04pm
Our darling Sally, 16 year old pointerX adopted from The Lost Dogs’ Home in 1991. With breaking hearts, but in absolute love to spare her further suffering or loss of dignity, Sally was gently put to sleep at home, Wandin, with her family by her side. A gentle, quiet, loving pet who showed true spirit of patience, firstly with my twin sons as infants and then, in her advancing years, with our Jack Russell puppy who teased her mercilessly (but loved her so). Run free Sal. We all miss you. Jenny
