Tony

Tony

Tony, a Maltese Terrier, was lost to his loving owner Paul Eoanniyidis 18 months ago. In his moving letter he sent a donation charging us to look after the dogs who suffer so much. Thank you Tony, we will do our best for all of them.

Talia

Talia left us on 2 April 2005, aged 10 months, after being hit by a car. She came to us when aged 8 weeks, with her sister Milly. They lost their mother on the road and their owners abandoned them at 4 weeks of age. A rough start. That changed at our house, and we enjoyed and cherished them every moment.

Talia

They were inseparable, sleeping, eating and playing together, and they entertained us constantly. Talia was a beautiful, elegant feline, with a playful, kind, soft nature. All of our family, including Milly, miss her. We are now looking for a new friend for Milly. Talia is buried in our backyard, and Milly often sits on her gravestone….the kids reckon she is getting messages from Talia.

Tyrone

Tyrone, you came to us by a friend of a friend, at first you were very angry but time went on and you became one of our family members. We lost you in 2003 to cancer.

Tyrone

We love and miss you very much.

Lots of love Kaye, Lee, Connor, Jaylen, your doggy friends Sarah, Matey and Moe the cat from Lancefield Victoria.

Died July 2004

My name is Dianne and live in the Northern Rivers. We moved last year in June to our current residence, very much looking forward to the existing larger accomodation for my lovely chooks. It was 2 weeks after the move, when I went down to feed them, they had been taken by foxes. I was shocked and very sad for some time to come. They were lovely pets, and the kids had grown up with them. Each had a different personality, and I never knew I would miss them so much. They brought much joy and lots of laughs to our family. Thank you girls.

Sarah

Sarah

Sarah Lee passed away on the 26 February 2005 at the good old age of 13. I have had Sarah since she was a pup and she was like my little girl that I loved and still love.

We miss you a lot Sarah.

Lots of love,
Kaye, Lee, Connor, Jaylen and your partner for the last 12 years, Matey from Lancefield Victoria.

Mickey

Mickey

Mickey was a graduate and honorary staff member of the Lost Dogs Home. For eleven years he was a faithful friend of Tracey Anderson, herself a long serving and highly valued staff member of the Home.

Sadly Mickey died in January this year from bone cancer at the age of twelve after living a full life that involved Obedience Training successes, appearances on TV programs and news segments, and even on Christmas cards!

Tracey also took him to visit aged car homes where his warm and gentle soul won the hearts of all whom met him.

Magenta

Magenta

Carole Gutteridge of Sunshine with Magenta who, sadly, died recently at the age of only 3. She bequeathed the money she had earned as a guard dog (50c a week) to the Home. Thank you Magenta. . . and rest in peace.

Sable

Sable

In memory of Sable who in life once saved the life of owner Davis Parke of Kangaroo Ground during an attack by two big dogs.

Simon

SIMON was a friend and companion of the Gangemi family of Carnegie. He died last year but his owner Margaret is sure the he and her dog Andie who died some years ago we now have been reunited somewhere over the Rainbow Bridge.

Mutt

Meet Mutt. He enjoys pride of place in this gallery because for years through the nineties he promoted The Lost Dogs’ Home on national television in a commercial that was judged, by media advertising writer Bob Walker in the Herald-Sun, as the “Most Touching” commercial of the year (1993). He also made another commercial promoting Buffet Dogs Food. In addition to that he featured for various reasons in print radio and television news stories. Click here to see The Lost Dogs’ Home commercial, and here to view the Buffet commercial 1 and the Buffet commercial 2.

Mutt “graduated” from the Home in 1989 and won several Dog Obedience Awards including the Canine Association’s GDX Obedience Degree. He died, aged nine, of a sudden illness in 1995. Feel free to browse the other pet memorials or add your own pet memorial.

A short story written by his owner won first State prize in a national literary competition. Another was one of ten runners up in a world wide American based writing contest. Below is the internationally published story.
